1. Step: Hearing Test
A hearing test is the first step to achieving optimal performance from a hearing aid. Since hearing aid fittings are based on the results of the hearing test, an accurate hearing test is an essential requirement for proper adjustment. In our soundproof booth, we perform a comprehensive hearing assessment using state-of-the-art equipment. In addition to air conduction, bone conduction, and speech recognition tests, we also conduct the ACT (Audible Contrast Threshold) test, which measures how much hearing support you need in noisy environments.”
2. Step: Hearing Aids Fitting
Based on the results of the hearing test and the anatomy of the user’s ear canal, the appropriate acoustic parameters are selected. The initial ‘first fitting’ is then performed using the available hearing aids. Adjustments are made according to the patient’s feedback, after which the process proceeds to the verification stage
3. Step: Verification (Real Ear Measurement)
Real Ear Measurement (REM) is an essential component of a proper hearing aid fitting. With the First Fitting, we can estimate the output of the hearing aids, but since every individual has a unique ear canal anatomy, their ear canal resonance also differs. Because of these variations, the intensity of the sound reaching the eardrum from the hearing aid varies from person to person. By performing REM, we measure the actual sound level at the eardrum and make the most precise fine-tuning adjustments accordingly.
